In case of an emergency, i.e. weather, flood or fire, a decision is to be made by a member of the committee. If the playgroup is to close, a decision should be made as early as possible to enable parents to make arrangements for alternative childcare.
If an emergency occurs during a session, it will be the staff that makes the decision to close. It should be taken into account the local environment i.e. steep hills and roads from the playgroup, due to snow, ice or adverse weather conditions. The safety of the children, parents and staff are paramount.
Snow
If you are concerned about whether playgroup is open due to snow/ice please contact us on 873303 after 8.30am when a decision will have been made in consultation with the committee. If staff cannot get to playgroup someone will be available on 872184. If Newton Ferrers Primary school is closed we will automatically be closed as well.
