Welcome
We cater for all pre school children and have excellent facilities, including two safe outdoor areas. Our Ofsted report (Sept '08) highlighted the "outstanding" quality of care we provide with a range of activities, including arts and crafts, stories music and cooking. We have been established for over 40 years and have been in our present building since 1990.
We are the only playgroup in the village and have strong links with our childrens' families and also with the local community. The playgroup is affiliated to the Pre-School Learning Alliance and is run by a management committee.
We cater for children from birth until they start school and are open for five morning sessions, as well as two afternoon sessions. A lunch club is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. All of our staff are qualified with an NVQ III in childcare and Education and First Aid.
Fees
Our normal session fees are £7.50 for unaccompanied children and £3.00 for accompanied children under three years old.
Our lunchtime club is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12-1pm and costs £2.00 per child.
All children are elegible for Early Years' funding in the term after their third birthday. All children younger than two and a half must be accompanied by their parent/carer. Further information...
Parent involvement
We feel that young children learn better when their parents/carers are involved and we therefore encourage all families to take part in duty rotas.
We ask children to bring in a piece of fruit each week to share with the group at snack time. We provide the children with milk and a biscuit at each session (sometimes cooked by the children) and toast on a friday morning.
Childrens safety is paramount so we would ask all parents/carers to ensure that the gate is kept locked (and the outside door shut) at all times. Thank you.
